Do you feel asleep? Asleep with your business? Asleep moving your business forward?

Everything has that feeling of being unsuccessful, lost, confused and asleep at times. But, what can make you different is taking steps to move you and your business forward – and quickly.

“Recovery” starts with identifying what “going on” as to why you and your business are “asleep”. Here are a few things to try:

  • Identification. take 10-15 mins a day for up to 2 weeks to journalize and document what you and the business are experiencing. Keep the statement simple or use bullet points. Remember to include the emotion or feelings, the experience and situation, who, what and where. Remember that if you name it, you can claim it. Once we claim it, we can take steps to take actions.
  • Name it. You will want to carefully review, analyze and summarize your journalized notes and documents. It should be rather obvious and quickly where the common themes and threads are. In addition, situational patterns will be easily identifiable. By tagging each theme and thread with a level of business intensity or priority level, you will be able to easily sort the data.
  • Claim it. Now you “know and understand” the specific situation occurrences, you can begin to identify solutions and steps to implement and take. Share the information with others to help confirm you assessment.
  • Forward march. Finally, you will want to begin implement and take actions to move the business forward. By analyzing, tracking and monitoring process, you will be able to manage progress and determine success – adjusting as you move forward.
